How To Have Faith In God?

Faith In God means depending on and trusting God, which is easy to do when life is going as planned. However, when facing difficult situations, we must decide if we will attempt to handle them ourselves or ask God for his help. I’ve done it both ways and have found that trusting God takes the burden off me and makes my life much easier. Faith in God means we have confidence that he loves us and wants the best for us in every area of our lives, and it is nearly impossible to do if you don’t know him.

  1. Read the Bible: Finding a version of the Bible you enjoy reading is imperative. The Message, New Living, and Amplified versions are my favorites. A devotional may be an excellent place to start and can keep you from becoming overwhelmed, especially if you have never read the Bible. A devotional is a great way to introduce yourself to God’s word; some have questions to answer, which can make it fun. Be prepared to take some notes. God always shows up when we seek him, and you don’t want to forget what he may place on your heart.
  2. Develop a prayer life if you don’t have one. God desires a connection with us. Therefore developing a prayer life is crucial. Pray every day, which is just talking to God. Stay consistent, and you will feel His presence.
  3. Music is an excellent option if you’re struggling with what to say to God. Find some praise and worship songs and start singing, which draws God’s spirit close to yours.
  4. Find podcasts with uplifting sermons or audiobooks that will help keep you close to your Heavenly Father and excited to learn more about God.

Hebrews 11:1

Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we can’t see.

Peace Of God

The Seated In Faith Spiritual Blog will share journeys my family, and I took that helped develop our Faith. That Faith was instrumental in helping me navigate depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. Unfortunately, these were regular occurrences, so I know firsthand how darkness can make it extremely difficult to function and cope. However, my Faith in God has helped me live a life filled with unimaginable peace.

I believe that Jesus has already died to give us everything we will ever need to navigate this thing called life, and I pray this blog will help guide you to him. His death on the cross took every sin into the pits of hell and left them there. When he rose from the grave on the third day, he gave us victory in every area of our lives.

II Corinthians 5:7

For we live by Faith, not by sight

Seated In God’s Favor

I pray that this blog stirs something deep within your spirit and soul. In the same way, my spirit came to life when I ran into my friend, who had an undeniable glow. I knew I needed to try it when she told me she was attending church. If I hadn’t dug deeper to find out why she had that glow? I may have missed my spiritual journey with God and living a life set free from the darkness trying to destroy me.

Faith In God’s Mercy

My life was just fine; at least, I thought it was. I was still dealing with anxiety and panic attacks, but I was used to them. In addition, I was experiencing the ups and downs typical of being an adult. During this time, I blamed any episodes of depression I was experiencing on being exhausted with three kids, a husband, and a full-time job.

I wasn’t looking for God, but thank goodness he’s always waiting on us. God waits for us to ask for his help. He is a loving God and Father who desires to help all his children. He wants you to be happy and enjoy life, not sad, depressed, and unable to function. Since we have free will, God will not force us to do anything. Instead, you’ll feel a nudging or hear a whisper in your spirit. I’m glad I listened because my life differs from 20-plus years ago. The Seated in Faith Blog wants to help as you move from darkness to light.

Isaiah 30:18

So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.

Faith In God’s Grace

The writings in the blog will be personal as they describe our experiences with mental health disorders and how Jesus has helped us overcome them. My intention is not to offend anyone or their personal beliefs about God or Jesus. I pray you can keep an open mind and remember that God loves you. He wants the best for you, and so do I. Unfortunately, there is enough cruelty in our world, and that’s not the intention of The Seated In Faith Spiritual Blog.

Depression, Anxiety, Sleep, and Panic disorders are areas of darkness that have impacted me and some of my family members, and I know we aren’t alone. Some mental health disorders run in families, while clinical depression, ADHD, autism, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia are genetically linked. Other diseases, such as panic and anxiety, can be environmental and become a learned behavior. For example, if you have anxious parents, their behavior may cause you to develop an anxiety disorder.

Seated In The Love Of God

If this is the case for you. You’ll need to be more intentional with your thought life. Pay attention to your thought life. What scenarios are causing you to be more anxious or depressed? Where is the panic stemming from? Once you locate it, with God’s help, you can overcome it. Meditate on scripture, which means repeating it throughout the day. So that when your mind tries to take you to that dark place, you can change your focus.

You may have to challenge yourself to be positive if you’re naturally pessimistic. The moment you begin to change, be prepared for the enemy to bring a bunch of distractions. Don’t be caught off guard! I’d encourage you to set the tone daily by keeping a mental list of things you’re grateful for. An estimated 44 million Americans deal with a mental health disorder a year. You’re not alone, and there is a ton of help available, and no need to be ashamed. Someone you know is probably dealing with a disorder.
